About Citadel PQ

Citadel is a residential sub-neighbourhood situated in the northeastern reaches of Port Coquitlam, occupying elevated terrain that rises toward the slopes bordering Coquitlam to the north. Its boundaries are loosely defined by Shaughnessy Street to the west, the Coquitlam municipal boundary to the north, and lower-lying areas of the Lincoln Park and Birchland Manor neighbourhoods to the south and east. The elevated position gives much of the area a hillside character, with streets that follow the natural contours of the land and many properties benefiting from elevated outlooks over the surrounding community. The housing stock in Citadel is predominantly single-family detached homes, the majority of which were built from the late 1980s through the 1990s, giving the neighbourhood a cohesive, established suburban feel. Homes tend to sit on moderate to generously sized lots, with well-maintained streetscapes featuring mature plantings that reflect the neighbourhood's age. Larger two-storey homes are common throughout, and the overall character skews toward families who have settled into the area over several decades. Some townhome complexes are also present, adding modest density at certain pockets within the neighbourhood. The active listing mix reflects this variety, with a range of bedroom configurations coming to market at varying price points, from entry-level attached product through to larger detached homes positioned toward the upper end of the local market.
