Snowfall occurs periodically, particularly at higher elevations toward Burke Mountain, where accumulations can be significant. Arctic outflow events, though infrequent, can push cold continental air through the Fraser Valley corridor and bring sharp temperature drops and gusty easterly winds to the region. Summers in Coquitlam are warm and relatively dry, with temperatures generally ranging from 18°C to 26°C between June and August, occasionally reaching into the low 30s during heat events. The season brings noticeably reduced rainfall, and in recent years, wildfire smoke from interior BC and neighbouring provinces has periodically affected air quality during mid to late summer.
