Colwood is a city located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, forming part of the Greater Victoria metropolitan area. Winters are mild and wet, with average temperatures typically ranging from approximately 2°C to 8°C. Snowfall is infrequent and generally light, as the region benefits from its proximity to the moderating Pacific Ocean and the rain shadow effect created by the Olympic Mountains to the south. Freezing rain and prolonged hard freezes are uncommon, though occasional Arctic outflow events can push temperatures briefly below zero and bring icy conditions for short periods.
